Re: Muskegon and Mona Lakes
Thanks for replying. With the food base on Muskegon Lake, some of those muskies should be decent sized by now

Has anyone heard reports on how muskies are doing in these two lakes? Thanks

Murray 6/10...for reasons other then fishing
Thanks for posting. While I've never had theft while parked at the Murray ramps, my truck has been vandalized. Sad this happens when we're trying to fish.

Lures for sale
I'm downsizing my musky lures and trying to sell them on Grand Rapids craigslist. They're under sporting goods tagged "musky muskie lures". I live in Sparta. Thanks for anyone who looks.

Musky Senimar
Jason,
I enjoyed the seminar yesterday. Thanks for posting the info. Tom Dietz was excellent. Other then the insane number of people there, it was great. Glad to hear he'll be spending time on Murray.

MDNR Seeking Public Opinion on Proposed Muskie Regulation
Attended the Belmont meeting last evening. Will, Matt & myself represented MMA. There were two other men there for the pike regs. Good information, but I was surprised by lack of attendance. Apparently that has been the norm in these public meetings. The online surveys have received several thousand...

Fishing with other MMA members
If you have been like me, and haven't fished with other MMA members, you probably are missing out on some vital information. I have spent hundreds of hours on Murray, but fishing with Jim tenHaaf yesterday taught me things about the lake I didn't know. Next year, try to fish with others more. Doing ...

Salmon Spawn
We know the state is planting fewer salmon due to a decrease in forage. But Will's statement on the low water is more then likely the culprit why they're not seeing any fish. I went to the Grand by the Rogue yesterday to fish steelhead. It was so low that I questioned the safety of even launching, s...

If you didn't fish for muskies, what would you do
Good question, but easy to answer. Fish for other species! Bass, pike, walleye, steelhead, kings, to name a few. Actually, I haven't really missed musky fishing the last two months. (Though I intend to start again Tuesday!) I need to remind myself next year to fish for other species during the summe...

Water temps
I think we tend to foget how last summer, we NEVER had to quit fishing for muskies because it was unusually cool. You reasonably couldn't expect that two years in a row. Because it's going to take awhile for the whole water column to cool down, I expect it will be early September at the minimum befo...

Using Live Wells
Honestly, it was not stretching the realm of possibility for Mike to have died. I've seen firsthand, from my years as a police officer, how quickly people can bleed out when a major artery is damaged. Combine large hooks, thrashing fish, and being a long distance from competent medical attention, th...

Current water temps
When Lake Michigan is between 75-80, it's highly unlikely our inland lakes will be cooler. I agree with Steve. It's too risky right now, and it doesn't appear it will change anytime soon. Enjoy the abundant bass, pike & walleye opportunities we're blessed to have.
